Third Sentence Thursday 8/11/11

Third Sentence Thursday is hosted by Sniffly Kitty's Mostly Books
The rules are:
1) Take the book you are reading now and post the third sentence
2) Review this sentence anyway you want (funny and silly reviews encouraged)
3) Post a link to your sentence on Sniffly Kitty's blog in the comment section of her blog post, or if you don't have a blog, post yours in the comments.

The third sentence for Spiral X is "He was scared."
That sentence does not do the novel justice I think that the first sentence describes the action so much better: "'You can't do this,' the man croaked as I brought my knife closer to his eye."
Great first sentence, right? The third sentence however, is just adding to the sentences around it, I mean you'd be scared if there was a woman holding a knife to your eye, right?

The third sentence for The Demon Girl is "I spent most of the day terrified of dying, or losing a limb."
That is a great sentence. I was a little worried because the sentence before it was "I won't lie" how awful would it have been if both of my third sentences would have been duds. But, I am pleased with the third sentence this time.

Actually my sentences this week make me seem like a person who loves violence and stories about people getting maimed. Well actually....

No, I do admit that I love action stories and there is often violence in action stories but if there are no characters that I can connect to or if a great plot is missing, I won't enjoy the story. I definitely don't like violent stories for violence's sake.
